Great job with the CAEP scholarship reception Bros!

Thank you Bros. Ford, Hill, Van, and Gillespie for your outstanding work on the CAEP scholarship reception with the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha.  It was a fantastic event highlighting the achievements of our youth, and showcasing their talent.  We've received nothing but positive feedback from the event.  You've successfully changed how we ceremonially honor our youth's scholastic and artistic achievements.  Who said change is hard, not "Team Alpha".  You all really stepped up to the challenge and organized a fantastic afternoon.  Let's continue to build on our partnership with the AKA's and enjoy many more success stories.  Great job, and keep up the good work!

Also, thank you to all the Bros. who attended the event or donated tickets to ensure the family and friends of our CAEP students could attend.  Your donations are very much appreciated.

Fraternally,

Bro. Brian E. Samuels

Job well done Team Alpha!

We've completed an exciting weekend of activities in honor of our beloved fraternity member Dr. Martin Luther King Jr..  The weekend commenced  with our annual MLK Educator's Breakfast the morning of 1/18.  Later that day we hosted the 16th Annual San Diego Sheila Hardin Multi-Cultural Festival from 11am - 5pm at the MLK Promenade.  (http://www.kpbs.org/events/2014/jan/18/25014/).  During the multi-cultural festival we held a voter registration drive to show our commitment to the Voteless People is a Hopeless People national program.  Thank you Mr. Curtis Price and Mrs. Cynthia Price for your commitment to ensuring the continued success of this event.

Sunday, 1/19 we hosted the 34th annual MLK Parade.   Thanks everyone for another successful MLK parade!  Great job with securing the staging area, checking participants in, setting up the groups in proper order, keeping the parade flowing, taking pictures, and the quick clean up!  Great job everyone!  What a  way to start the year!    Thank you Dr. Robert Matthews for your excellent work as lead chairperson.  You really know how to keep the spirit alive!
